Disney .YNSD: Imagineering's New Lifestyle Brand Debuts at D23 2026

Disney just announced something a little different from its usual parade of attraction reveals: a fashion brand. Disney .YNSD — pronounced “yen-sid” — is a new lifestyle apparel and accessories line created by Walt Disney Imagineering, and it makes its public debut at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this August in Anaheim. Here’s what we know, and why it might matter for your next trip even if you’re nowhere near a convention center.

What Is .YNSD?

The name is a puzzle box, which tells you a lot about the brand. Take “Disney,” reverse it, drop the vowels, and you get .YNSD — a nod to Yen Sid, the sorcerer who mentors Mickey in Fantasia’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment (whose own name is the same trick).

The line comes from a collective of Imagineers — the designers, artists, and engineers who build Disney’s parks and ships — and Disney describes it as having “stories embedded into every piece.” Think of it as the opposite of a big-character-graphic souvenir tee: clean, modern silhouettes with the Disney references tucked into embroidery, custom trims, and tonal details you have to look for. Some pieces even use photochromic inks, so hidden graphics appear only when you step into sunlight — a very Imagineering way to make a t-shirt do a trick.

If you’ve ever hunted down Mickey’s of Glendale merchandise — the Imagineering employee store whose gear has been a fan grail for decades — this is that sensibility turned into a full standing brand.

The First Two Collections

Collection 1 is the debut line: everyday essentials — tees, crewnecks, outerwear, and accessories — built around subtle detailing and discovery rather than obvious branding. It’s apparel designed to be worn anywhere, with the Disney of it all revealed on closer inspection.

Collection 2 is the one that caught our eye as cruise specialists: it’s inspired by the Haunted Mansion Parlor, the ghostly Victorian bar aboard the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny. Expect Victorian-inspired textiles, layered patterns, and spectral imagery concealed inside the designs — the retiring-but-sinister elegance of the Parlor, translated into clothing. If you’ve sailed on the Treasure and loved that space, this collection was made for you.

When and Where to Shop It

The first chance to buy either collection is at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, August 14–16, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center. Tickets start at $49 for an afternoon Fan Pass, with single-day, three-day, and Ultimate passes available at D23.com — the higher tiers add access to the marquee showcases at Honda Center, where Disney traditionally drops its biggest parks and cruise announcements.

Disney hasn’t yet said where .YNSD will land after D23 — whether that’s online, in the parks, or aboard the ships. Given the Haunted Mansion Parlor tie-in, we wouldn’t be surprised to see pieces turn up in Disney Cruise Line shops eventually, but that’s our speculation, not an announcement.

What This Means for Your Trip

Two takeaways for travelers rather than convention-goers:
