Nestled in the heart of Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room stands as a remarkable piece of theme park history. Originally opened in 1963 at Disneyland, it made its debut as the first-ever attraction featuring Audio-Animatronics technology. Fast forward to October 1971, the Walt Disney World version, initially dubbed “Tropical Serenade,” welcomed its first guests. The attraction saw a significant change in 1998 when it was rebranded to “Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management” with new hosts, Iago from “Aladdin” and Zazu from “The Lion King.” Unfortunately, a fire in 2001 led to its temporary closure, but it was lovingly restored and reopened in August 2011 as “Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.”

This 10-minute show is a vibrant celebration of color and sound, featuring over 300 singing birds, Tiki gods, and blossoming flowers. Guests are first treated to an entertaining preshow outside the main theater, setting the stage for the tropical spectacle to come. Once inside, you’ll find seating on long, backless benches under a canopy of animatronic performers. The entire show unfolds in a dimly lit setting, enhancing the enchantment of the songs and animations.

The soundtrack of the show is particularly memorable, featuring catchy tunes like “The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room,” “Let’s All Sing Like the Birdies Sing,” and the spirited “Hawaiian War Chant.” These songs invite guests of all ages to sing along and immerse themselves in the jubilant atmosphere.

Tips for Visiting Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room:

  • Accessibility: Guests using wheelchairs will find this attraction accommodating, as there is no need to transfer from the wheelchair.
  • Family Friendly: The Enchanted Tiki Room is designed to delight audiences from all age groups. However, note that the darker setting and brief lightning effects might startle younger children. Carrying a small flashlight or a glow stick can help alleviate any unease.
